Los Arcos

Navarra

A quiet plaza town with one of Spain's most overwhelming Baroque church interiors.

A short history

Founded by the Romans as Curnonium and refounded by King Sancho Ramírez in the 12th century, Los Arcos was long contested between Navarra and Castile. Its parish church hides a riot of gilded retablos behind a sober facade.
