Betanzos

Galicia

A medieval Galician town on the Camino Inglés, famous for its old quarter and the legendary tortilla de Betanzos.

A short history

One of the four historic capitals of the old Kingdom of Galicia, Betanzos sits at the head of its own ría and grew rich on river trade. Its preserved medieval streets, Gothic churches and pilgrim hospitality made it a natural inland stop on the route from Ferrol and A Coruña to Santiago.
